to write;
"...I come into the peace of wild things
who do not tax their lives with forethought
of grief. I come into the presence of still water.
And I feel above me the day-blind stars
waiting for their light. For a time
I rest in the grace of the world, and am free."

-The Peace of Wild Things; Wendell Berry

what do you see?/I can sense stars, and their whispers amid the roaring of our own Sun.

"our days would be happier
if we gave people a piece of our hearts
rather than a piece of our minds."

lunch with Cheong and Becky @ KFC (both overslept -ahemhem- ooh but in the end it was ok because while waiting i found a lovely present :)), joined shortly by Nette. it was like a mini-Geog outing [[Caaarmen, what happened to the real one?! XD]] (: haha talking about all sorts of random stuff over our meal.

we went up too late to grab tickets for the 1.10 Tangled (which is surprisingly popular, hm), so we got the 3.10 ones then went to eat ice-cream at Ben & Jerry's @ Heeren..sat there for more than an hour (closer to one and a half XD) chattering and laughing (we were out of sight of the staff, and anyway business was slow..) about nonsense like SKII and Slash and our comfortable temperature and blahblah :) the times we fell silent to finish up the 4 flavours in peace (yums), i was just thinking to myself how strangely happy i was. yes, this hol has been filled with an extraordinary number of quiet, contented moments. how blessed i am!

so took a stroll around the shops (Cheong & Nette pulled off this mad dash out of this weird shop and the former got a stomachache cos she was laughing all the way down the escalator :P), loitering around the atrium before a security guard spotted us, stared at us then purposefully made his way down straight in our direction. we backed off and returned to the couches outside the halls at Cine (:P) to yabber some more, then - realising we were gonna be late again! - took the lift up to L9 and went in. at first Jeanette was complaining about a neckache (we were inthe second row), but it was a hundred percent fine in the end ;) the seats are really comfy.

Tangled was such a feel-good movie, but with pretty music and lovely graphics, plus a strong storyline and a convincing script, Disney has outdone itself. it exceeded all our expectations (and i have high standards!) :-)

my favourite scene (do watch it ♥) is the one where they're sitting on the boat and the lanterns float out from the city
the song was perfect!
i wished the whole thing would go on forever; i want to do exactly that in real life. :) someday, i will.

funnily enough, but that scene in particular really reminds me of Aladdin. maybe because of the lyrics and the completely Disney-esque couple. but this one is my new favourite Disney movie, so there :)

when the evil kidnapping lady aged and fell before collapsing into a pile of ashes, Jeanette leaned over and said, "and this is what happens when you use too much anti-ageing cream!"
in the context of our previous discussion of SKII, it was hilarious and we totally burst out laughing at a completely inappropriate moment..whoops but :D all the same..

i love Mandy Moore's voice. especially when she hits the high notes, i get goosebumps. wow. to have a voice like hers.

#I See the Light; Mandy Moore & Zachary Levi
#Terrified; Katharine McPhee ft Zachary Levi

anyway, then Cheong and me went one way while Becky and Jeanette went the other (:) thanks again for the day!)..the two of us headed to 313@Somerset to walk-walk-see-see because neither of us wanted to go back yet, and aha! I finally found Harris :) we were squealing madly while browsing and spotting all these awesome books, and turns out both of us have this huge interest in physics :) HELLO FRIEND. :D

yes, then my dad came and Cheong hopped into a cab to head home. the end (:
what a brilliant day.

.

oh yeah, and i finished reading the perks of being a wallflower :) thoughtful, but i hate the writing. as in, ugh i don't know how to explain it but i thought the narrator sounded stilted and unnatural..Chbosky was rather transparent at various bits.

like how sometimes you just can't watch a movie/drama series episode because it's so sappy and you just know they're trying to make you cry and feel sorry for the character? and therefore you just feel irritated and non-sympathetic the whole way?
that's what i call bad scripting. they're just too transparent about what they're trying to do. eeps, no no terrible.

i almost said the same thing about this book, but it's not so bad because it has some parts that help save it from itself.

still, John Green does a much better job than Chbosky. i finally managed to get my hands on looking for alaska, yeah :D

new year's almost here! start thinking of your resolutions, though you know you might not stick to them ;)
